Education

I was elected to the South Windsor Board of Education in November 2017. I have been the Vice Chair of the South Windsor Board of Education since being elected to office. I have been part of the executive team meetings, updated the Board of Education policies, and part of the teacher contract negotiations. I am also a member of the Capital Projects Committee. I have worked with Board members and the Town Council on the budget each year.

My son Jake is a 2019 graduate of South Windsor High School and went to Eli Terry Elementary School and Timothy Edwards Middle School. While he attended Eli Terry, I was active with the PTO and was Treasurer for 2 years, co-chaired the bookstore, book fair and chaired the 5th Grade Committee.

Professionally, I have worked at Tunxis Community College for the past 15 years teaching in the Criminal Justice Program. I have been the Program Coordinator for the Criminal Justice Program from the past 11 years. I developed courses, transfer agreements, hire and supervise adjunct instructors, and manage the budget for the program. I am also the Title IX Coordinator for Tunxis and I am responsible for training students and staff in prevention and awareness of sexual assault, domestic/dating violence and stalking. I also write the Sexual Violence Report to the legislators for the college.

I also have a passion for working with dogs. Most Fridays you can find me at Pack Leaders Rescue in East Hartford helping with dogs transported from Arkansas to get ready for their furever homes! I bath dogs and assist bringing them to the vet and then to Petsmart in Manchester or East Hartford for the adoption events. Anyone interested in volunteering or fostering dogs, please let me know!
